Dr Michelle de Brun joined the practice in October 2018. Special interests: Female Health, Family Planning, testing for Sexually Transmitted Infection, Pregnancy, Breast Checks, Menopause, Urology, Mens Health, Minor Injuries and Surgical Complains.
Michelle completed her medical degree in NUIG Galway in 1999. She completed the Western Basic Surgical Scheme and worked in Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics and Breast Surgery and then secured an Associate Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2002.
She worked for a time in the Emergency Department and in Paediatrics before entering the North Western Specialist Training Scheme in General Practice. She graduated as a Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2006. During her scheme she worked in General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Psychiatry. She also has a Diploma in Child Health and a Higher Diploma in Medico- Legal and Forensic Medicine.
As well as working as a GP since qualification Michelle was also appointed as Group Medical Director for VHI Swiftcare clinics nationally and as Head of Medical Affairs for Janssen Pharmaceuticals during her career to date.
Michelle is registered with the Medical Council of Ireland on the Specialist Register for General Practice.
